Mission
To improve and promote the wellness and recovery of persons with, or at risk of, behavioral healthcare needs, substance use disorder, and intellectual or developmental disabilities who reside in Newaygo County through the provision of integrated, person- and family-centered, trauma-informed services.
Vision
Newaygo County Mental Health Center is committed to meeting the challenges of the 21st century. The Center will develop the competencies necessary to provide mental health, developmental disability, and substance use services in a managed care environment. Improving wellness and recovery for community members most in need will remain the Center’s primary focus, with prevention, wellness, and recovery programs as core components of person- and family-centered integrated services.
As a member of the Mid-State Health Network (MSHN), the Center will work in partnership with other agencies in the county, region, and statewide to support integrated delivery systems. The Center will collaborate with community partners to support timely access to needed services. As stakeholders demand increased accountability and transparency, integrated delivery systems demonstrating efficiency, effectiveness, and quality will remain central to health care reform.
The Center will continue to operate within the philosophy of promoting, building, and sustaining a trauma-informed and recovery-oriented system of care within Newaygo County. This includes a commitment to continually evaluate and improve our ability to:
- Promote a trauma-informed and recovery-oriented system of care in the community
- Be accountable to the clients and community we serve within the recovery-oriented system of care
