Our
vision and values
Vision
Newaygo County Mental Health Center is positioning itself to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Part of doing this is developing the competencies necessary to provide mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services in a managed care environment. While it is believed that improving the quality of life for our citizens most in need will be the center's primary focus, prevention and wellness programs will also be vital components to center services.
The center will also work hard to become partners in the provision of services with other agencies in the county, region, and state-wide as a means to create integrated delivery systems. The goal being to develop a seamless system where customers/consumers can have easy and rapid access to needed services. This kind of system will be useful as funding streams are pooled or block-granted. As stakeholders demand more accountability with less bureaucracy, integrated delivery systems that are able to demonstrate efficiencies, effectiveness, quality and access will be in the forefront of health care reform.
And lastly, the center will be moving toward establishing a "vision-driven, long-term healthy communities" philosophy. This philosophy will require our organization to re-engineer services and competencies so that we can
promote healthy and secure communities;
hold ourselves accountable for social and community wellness;
serve as a catalyst for positive social change;
measure the health of the community; and
monitor an individual's health in relation to the health status of each community.
